     Christian Carlos Keil was born in 1978 in Stuttgart, Germany, as son of a Spanish mother and a German father. He studied Geography at the Eberhard-Karls University of Tübingen with specialization on developing countries and Latin America. While studying he spent two years abroad in Brazil, Bolivia and in the USA. In 2002, an article for the monthly news magazine Connection to the Americas on the coca peasants in Bolivia, inspiring him for his thesis "Coca in Bolivia - Cultivation, Eradication and Alternatives: Perspectives towards a sustainable development in the Chapare region"¯. Within a three month stay in Bolivia in the summer of 2004, filming and field work was realized. The documentary and his studies were finished in July 2005.

 

     René Peralta Dominguez was born in 1978 in Stuttgart, Germany as the son of Spanish parents. He trained as a digital media designer for image and sound in the field of editing and filming. Since 2001 he has been working as a film editor and cameraman, at the same time, participating in other short-film projects in Germany and Switzerland. Through many long discussions shared with Christian C. Keil over the situation in Bolivia an idea to produce a film on the thyme "Coca in Bolivia"¯ was inspired. René Peralta D. is responsible for the technical supervision of the project.

 

     Sarah Jung was born in 1979 in Nürnberg, Germany, and raised in Stuttgart. After high school she spent one year abroad in Honduras. There, working for a social project with children and adolescence in the capital city of Tegucigalpa. Since the year 2000 she has been studying anthropology, specializing on Native American civilizations, sociology and political science at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-University in Bonn. In 2001, she worked at the archaeological excavation site in Samaipata, Bolivia. While studying she was engaged also in the Institute for Ecology and Action Anthropology. She is an active founder member of the association "Rimaykullayki"¯, which is dedicated to the support for the intercultural dialogue.
